Pieces to Camera
The week commencing, 22nd March, I started to film my piece to camera, I would take each piece of 'Voice Over' from my script, this details each building and my proposed camera piece for each. On the shoot, I decided to use a Sennheiser G3 Radio Mic which recorded my voice wirelessly with the aid of a Zoom H5 Recorder. The equipment that I utilised for capturing the correct angles and shooting the pieces to camera, included my Nikon D7100 with my personal favourite 18-70mm lens.
When on the shoot, I made use of my IPAD, I had downloaded a simple teleprompter app, this enabled myself to have an electronic copy of my script for reading off of. This was positioned above the camera for easy reading, to ensure that I was staring in the right direction at all times.
A few screen-grabs have been provided below to give a feel for the different kinds of camera angles and give a flavour for how the cut-outs of the buildings could be brought into the frame.
On reflection, I decided to re-shoot the pieces to camera, simply because it was a bit distracting to the viewer when i was reading off my IPAD. Also, further to this, in some of the clips I wasn't staring straight at camera which I thought was misleading.
